Online Counselling and Therapy in Alberta
Online therapy makes it easier for Albertans to care for their mental health and work toward their goals.
When finding time for your wellbeing becomes difficult
Have you recently experienced a major life change such as a relationship ending or death? Is your stress, mood, or negative thoughts becoming unmanageable on your own? Maybe you are experiencing headaches, stomach aches, or fatigue.
Online therapy makes support more accessible, flexible, and comfortable. Whether you’re managing stress, relationship challenges, or simply seeking personal growth, virtual sessions provide the same level of care as in-person therapy.
Common issues addressed in virtual therapy include:
anxiety & stress,
depression & mood concerns,
self-esteem & confidence,
trauma, loss & grief,
life transitions,
family & parenting challenges, and
relationship issues.

How Virtual Therapy Can Make a Difference
Through secure video sessions, you can connect with a therapist from the privacy of your own space.
Access Care Conveniently: instead of factoring in travel time, traffic, or parking, you can join your session with just a few clicks. This makes therapy easier to fit into busy days and can help you focus on the support and not the stress.
Build Comfort and Consistency: meeting from a familiar environment - such as your home - can make it easier to open up and feel at ease. For some, being in a personal space reduces the anxiety of starting therapy, making it more natural to share thoughts and feelings. You can talk freely without worrying about who you might run into in a waiting room.
Increase Flexibility: Life is full of responsibilities - work, family, and personal commitments. Online therapy allows you to schedule sessions at times that work best for you, with more options to adjust around unexpected changes in your day. This flexibility helps you prioritize your mental health without sacrificing other areas.
Stay Connected: With online session, therapy doesn’t have to stop when you travel, work away from home, move to a new city in Alberta, or face obstacles that would otherwise prevent in-person visits. This continuity means you can maintain progress and support no matter where life takes you.

How Online Therapy At Creating Solutions Works
-
Through the first sessions a Creating Solutions’ therapist gets to know you and will develop unique strategies and interventions aimed at supporting you in achieving your therapy goals, reducing current distress, and building resiliencies for the future.
-
Getting ready for online therapy is simple, but a little preparation can help you feel more comfortable and get the most out of sessions:
A private space: choose a quiet, comfortable place you feel safe to talk openly without disruptions.
Stable internet connection: a reliable Wi-Fi or data connection ensures your video and audio are clear so they don’t disrupt your session.
A device with camera and microphone: a computer, tablet, or smartphone work. Just make sure your camera and microphone are working properly before the session starts. Many clients prefer headphones.
Minimize distractions and gather what you need: close other apps or programs, silence notifications, and let others you need uninterrupted time. Many like to have water, tissues, or a notepad close by so you can focus on your session.
-
At Creating Solutions we understand our clients are active participants in therapy and experts in their own lives. We work collaboratively with you to ensure therapy is responsive to where you’re at currently and supporting you to find solutions that fits with who you are, including your beliefs, culture, and life goals.
-
Creating Solutions requires all clients to go through informed consent during their first session so they know their rights and the expectations during therapy. This includes a conversation with their therapist and the review of consent forms. Anytime there is a change or question, a Creating Solutions’ therapist will revisit this conversation so the process of therapy is clear and comfortable.
