  • A psychoeducation assessment is a comprehensive evaluation designed to understand an individual's learning profile, including their strengths and challenges. The process involves several key steps:

    1. Referral and Clinical Interview: information is gathered from multiple sources to best understand a student’s presentation, behaviour, and learning experiences.

    2. Documentation Review: documents like report cards and intervention reports are commonly reviewed.

    3. Standardized Testing: the student engages in activities aimed at understanding their general cognitive profile, achievement profile, executive functioning, adaptive functioning, and social-emotional functioning.

    4. Reporting and Feedback: after all information is scored and interpreted the individual or guardians, in the case of a child, are provided with a written report and debrief meeting to ensure their understanding of the information and all recommendations noted.

  • An ADHD assessment is an evaluation designed to understand an individual's executive functioning as it applies to their current needs and functioning. The process involves several key steps:

How Assessments At Creating Solutions Works

  • Through the first interview a Creating Solutions’ therapist gets to know you and your goals for the process. Tools and assessment strategies are then incorporated to best meet these goals

  • Creating Solutions requires the informed consent of all guardians to proceed with assessment services involving a minor, unless indicated otherwise by legal documents. If you have documents related to decision making for a child please provide those at the time of intake.

  • At the end of every assessment Creating Solutions’ therapists will discuss all results and recommendations to ensure clarity. Our goal is to have you leave the process with a clear. and realistic path forward that works with you (or your child).
