A HoneyMugs Production

Creating Solutions brings its counselling effectiveness and skill into a group format. Participants can benefit form skilled clinical work while learning from other survivors they really are not alone.
As with other counselling services the primary concern is balancing sensitivity with for the clients needs and continuing to facilitate the clients learning about themselves, their capacities and strengths to develop new solutions to advance their recovery.

Sexual Abuse

Perhaps one of the more pervasive and debilitating issues for individuals and their families to address. The complexity of issues and relationships are sometimes overwhelming to consider in recovery. This group offers hope to individuals as they begin to move through recovery and offers support where necessary for their significant others or partners. The group is unique as it does not look only at the reality of presenting issues but offers real hope and support for the survivor and their families in developing a renewed sense of self.

Partners of Survivors

This unique group supports partners of survivors of sexual abuse. It is uniquely geared and reflective of the process and skill development aspects of the Sexual Abuse recovery group. Participants will draw on each others experience and support to continue with those things that are supportive of their partners recovery. Also partners will explore personal issues related to living with the pain of a recovery survivor and find meaningful ways to establish a supportive environment for intimacy and day to day living. It also helps partners develop sensitivity regarding when to support a survivor in confrontation and protect them from potentially harmful situations.

Domestic Violence

This group offers both emotional support and practical solutions for the participants recently left or seeking to leave a violent/abusive relationship. Counselling helps participants explore relationship dynamics that foster abusive relationships and to develop skills to avoid future abuse. Moreover the groups work helps participants gain new skills in relationships to help them find and establish supportive and safe relationships for themselves and their families.
