CSI has developed special programs and services that can be used in a regularly scheduled manner or as an interim or one-time service. Services are designed to help parents and youth living with the effects of Attention Deficit, Hyper activity and Fetal Alcohol Effects.

In-Class Academic Support

CSI has developed a program that draws on its expertise in working with youth experiencing behavioural and learning difficulties. This service brings a skilled youth worker into the school (under mutual agreement of the school) to provided special education and psycho-social training for identified youth. The service can be used with a group of students or an individual depending on parent and educator’s needs and the presenting issue.

The services focuses on helping students gain insight and awareness of their behaviour and it effects in class and their academic work. Counselling helps reduce behaviour problems through increasing pro-social skills and developing academic skills for participating in class. CSI can work with a school to help design a program that can be integrated into present curriculum or as a standalone workshop for students and educators.

In-Home Academic Support

CSI can provide a specialist youth worker to work directly with a student who has been expelled or suspended from a school due to primarily relational and behaviour issues. The services will focus on developing specific exercises to ensure academic material is kept up to date during school absence, to help advance pro-social skills and minimize the effects of negative relationships. The youth worker can also offer special parent education in child management techniques and advocacy.
